Teaching in Academic Institutions

Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design (2014–2019)

Mary Paynter Sherwin and I were core faculty members in CIID's Interaction Design Programme, where we taught "Team Building: Collaboration Practices for Interaction Designers" and "Reflection Week". Additionally, we co-taught the following courses:  "Introduction to Interaction Design," "Happily Ever After: Storytelling Techniques in Interaction Design," "Workability: Techniques for Better Design," and "Designing for Disagreement."

California College of the Arts (2011–2014, 2017)

In 2017, Mary Paynter Sherwin and I worked as adjunct profssors in CCA's MDes in Interaction Design, where we taught a 3-week intensive class in the use and ethics of story in interaction design.

I was a founding faculty member in the BFA in Interaction Design Program, and taught a semester-long class from 2011 to 2014 on the role of storytelling in interaction design. In 2014, our program was named the best academic user experience design program in the Design for Experience awards.
